Telecommuting

I came across the Media Bistro site recently while combing the Internet for legit jobs.  They have tons of information, including their latest video, Writing for the Web: Guidelines for Writing Online.  This site also offers quite a few online classes, as well as live ones if you live in the NYC area.  Their articles range from how to pitch certain magazines to running your own online business and much more. Register on their website for a basic membership- it is free and you’ll get their non-spammy newsletter in your email box.

If you join as an Avant Guild member ($59 per year), you can even sign up for group health insurance- this is a great bonus if you can’t afford health insurance on your own.  Personally, my health insurance ran out several months ago and I couldn’t afford COBRA, so this is something I’m considering using.
